We care deeply about children's ministry at OGC and want to help our little ones learn about Jesus in a safe, welcoming environment.

Here is some more information about our ministry philosophy, plus a few helpful details about how we can serve you on a Sunday morning.

Our Mission

Support & encourage

Supporting and encouraging parents who are primarily responsible for teaching biblical truths to their children (Ephesians 6:4)

Preach God's Word

Making the whole counsel of Scripture known to children with special emphasis on the Gospel (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Romans 1:16-17)

Pray at all times

Praying for the children and relying on the Holy Spirit to regenerate their hearts through the faithful teaching of His Word (Romans 10:17; Ephesians 2:4-10)

Live faithfully

Living faithfully before our children and modeling for them how Christians are called to relate to God, each other, and the world around us (Matthew 5:16; 1 Corinthians 11:1)

Children's Ministry Programming

We offer the following age-appropriate classrooms for children on Sunday mornings.

12 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS

Nursery

Our nursery provides a safe, loving environment where your little ones will hear Bible stories, sing worship songs, and enjoy snacks together. Through age-appropriate activities and coloring sheets, children begin forming meaningful relationships with caring adults who love Jesus. This nurturing space helps lay the foundation for your child's spiritual journey.

3 to 4 years

Preschool

Our preschool class provides a safe, loving environment where your little ones will hear Bible stories, have playground time, and enjoy snacks together. Through age-appropriate activities children begin forming relationships with other kids and adults who love Jesus. This nurturing space helps build upon the foundation of trusting in Christ, loving His
truth, and building those meaningful relationships within the church.

Pre-k to 2nd Grade

GraceKids

Children in GraceKids are transitioning to worship with their families. They begin each service together and are dismissed after the singing portion, before the sermon begins.

This approach helps children gradually adjust to full worship participation. For families attending our Adult Equipping Hour class during the 10:45 service, or those serving elsewhere on Sunday morning, GraceKids opens at the beginning of the worship service with relationship-building time and songs before other children are dismissed from the worship center.

3rd to 5th grade

Grace345 (2nd Service)

Children in grades 3-5 are ready to attend the full worship service with their families. We believe it's important for children to engage with the whole church family, though we understand this transition may take time.

During our second service (10:45 AM), when Adult and High School Equipping Hour classes meet, we offer Grace345 using The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum. This provides age-specific Bible teaching and peer interaction for children who have already attended the first service with their families.

The Gospel Project

About Our Curriculum

We use The Gospel Project for Kids, a Christ-centered Bible study curriculum that takes children on a journey through the entire Bible over the course of three years.

The Gospel Project presents the Bible as one unified story of God's plan to rescue His people through Jesus Christ. Each lesson connects the dots between the Old and New Testament, showing children how God has been working throughout history to bring about His perfect plan of salvation.

Safety & Staffing

Safety is our top priority. All classrooms are staffed by background-checked and trained volunteers who are covenant members of our church community.

Additionally, we have hall monitors who circulate throughout the building on Sunday mornings as an extra layer of protection for our children.

Children's Ministry Check-In

We use the Planning Center platform for secure and easy check-ins. If you're planning to have your child join Children's Ministry for the first time, you can set up an account via the link below or at our Welcome Desk.

The check-in process will provide you with a sticker for your child to wear and a security code for you to keep. Please hang on to your security code, which prints one per household immediately after the stickers are printed. You'll present your security code when picking up your child from the classroom.

You may also download and use the Church Center App to pre-check your kids on the go.

Including Kids with Special Needs

To help us provide the best possible care and experience for your child on Sunday mornings, we've created a Special Needs Accommodation Form.

This form is designed to give you an opportunity to share any important information or specific needs your child may have. Our volunteers will have access to this information so they can serve your child with greater understanding and care.

While we may not be able to meet every accommodation request, we are committed to doing our best and advocating for your child.

Tips for a Smooth Sunday

Please label all items entering the classroom

This includes diaper bags, cups, and other belongings.

This helps us keep track of your family's items throughout the morning.

Our classrooms open once they're fully staffed with two volunteers

Caring for both your child and our volunteers is a top priority, so we ensure classrooms don't become overcrowded.

If our rooms reach capacity, we'll let you know and offer alternatives.

If childcare isn't available, feel free to pick up a Praise Pack from the Welcome Desk

After that we encourage you to attend service with your child, or use our Family Room.

Family Spaces

We're currently unable to offer nursery care for infants under 12 months, but we have two family-friendly spaces. Major holidays may temporarily alter our childcare services, but our nursing and family rooms always remain open.

Nursing Moms Room

Located on the far side of the auditorium (accessible through the lobby), this private space allows mothers to watch the service while nursing.

Family Room

Located across the lobby from the Welcome desk, this room accommodates families with toddlers and babies who need space to move while still watching and listening to the service.
