A
vision statement does not look at what is; it dreams about and paints a picture
about what could be.

Aspects
of Our Vision
We
see a community of believers more thoroughly aware of and stunned by the intricacies
and marvels of God’s grace which have accomplished our reconciliation to God,
i.e., turned us from enemies to friends of the living God.
We
see a community of believers so thoroughly pursuing their joy in God that it
cannot help but overflow in love that reaches out
in effective witness to lost peoples. As a result
-
We embrace
our identity as ambassadors for Jesus Christ through which God
Himself implores unbelievers to be reconciled to Him.
-
We practice an intentional engagement
of lost people to the end of calling them from seeking fulfillment in
inferior pleasures to pursuing ultimate satisfaction in Christ.
-
We see multitudes in Central Florida
coming to know Christ as Savior and Lord, being baptized and going on to
spiritual maturity.
-
We
grow in numbers as God gives the increase through conversion growth
as well as transfer and biological growth.
-
We see passions and expectations for global
missions run high in praying, giving, sending, and going.
Bible-less people groups come to have the Word
of God and churches planted in their cultural context by God’s work in and
through us.
We
see a community of believers where nothing matters more than pursuing our joy in God in every conceivable dimension of our lives. We go
hard after God, delight in Him, and champion Christian hedonism in our community
and beyond.
We
see a community of believers where prayer covers every aspect of the ministry
so that God is assured of getting the glory as the
Giver in our midst.
We
see a community of believers who enthusiastically embrace our identity as a Reformed fellowship practicing believer’s baptism
and our values, mission, and vision. We
methodically train pastors and plant churches in Central Florida with the same
orientation.
We
see a community of believers who develop an increasing desire for the Word of
God, both through personal study and expository preaching. The Holy Spirit uses these means to transform
every dimension of our lives by the renewing of our minds.
We
see a community of believers who enjoy the meticulous care of faithful, well-trained, long-term elders/undershepherds.
We engage in an association with other like-minded
believers for support and accountability.
We
see a community of believers committed to a systematic process of discipleship resulting in exponential multiplication of future
generations of disciples. We celebrate one another’s progression through various
levels of growth toward the goal of spiritual maturity. We aim at mastery of
every sequential phase of learning — from the most elementary principles of the
faith to the “solid food” of more advanced doctrine and practice.
We
see a community of believers where each member employs his/her gift to build up
the rest of the body toward spiritual maturity. Ministries generally emerge from
within the body,
motivated by giftedness and calling.
We have far more participants than spectators!
We
see a community of believers saturated with grace and love in the way they fellowship with one another. That
love shines brightest when dealing with conflict and chronic sin within the
body. Biblical peace-making principles govern all conflict resolution. Biblical
counseling principles dictate the restoration process for the fallen and
struggling.
We
see a community of believers committed to strengthening families as a powerful means of transforming our culture by
building God’s kingdom. The church equips every kind of household to leave a
lasting Christian legacy. All age groups regularly interrelate. Strong homes
comprise a strong church, radically impacting the world for the glory of God.
We
see a community of believers housed in a
functional, aesthetically pleasing church facility that reflects the glory of God and serves as a
place for worship, service, education, equipping, and outreach — built with
little to no debt. This facility also serves as a spiritual haven for the
surrounding community.
We
see a community of believers which learns from the past and has set out for the adventure God has ordained for it in the future. We invest completely in
God’s appointed vision. We look forward to that day in heaven when we thank God
for the privilege of having participated in the building of His church at OGC
and the expansion of His kingdom throughout the world.
